5th Annual Viva! Pomona Festival

Pomona, CA- May 18th, 2016- Pomona is about to be illuminated once again by the 5th incarnation of the Viva! Pomona Festival on July 16 & 17, which brings its most interesting and diverse lineup yet. The ever-growing festival (which has since become a concert-promoting institution in Los Angeles, hosting shows in some of the city’s most popular venues) has been acclaimed for its unconventional booking-- weaving together indie bands from Latin America and popular acts from the U.S. From July 16-17, Pomona, the little suburb that sits on the border of Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, will be a meeting place for sounds that many so often keep from intersecting.

This year’s lineup brings us the female-fronted garage powerhouse Shannon and the Clams, the psychedelic stylings of hometown heroes Chicano Batman (who recently toured with Jack Whiteand The Alabama Shakes), blue-haired Los Angeles punk icon Alice Bag, Melodic hip hop artist Lil Peep, none other than Money Mark’s (Beastie Boys) punk band MANGCHI, Alt-pop buzz artist Colleen Green, Tijuana shoegaze teens MINT FIELD (fresh off of a run at Coachella), the electro-rock stylines of Gardens & Villa, and many, many, many more who you may or may not recognize (all the more reason to attend!).

Spanning indoor and outdoor venues all over Pomona, Viva takes place on Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17. The festival is ALL AGES and tickets are $20 per day, doors opening at 4pm.
