DIA DE LOS MUERTOS: THE LEGACY OF POSADA

Día de Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever is quickly approaching with a lineup consisting of over 40 amazing musical acts performing across four stages that will blow your mind.

This year's Main Stage lineup features Aterciopelados, Cuco, Ximena Sariñana and La Chamba.

Alternative music pioneers Aterciopelados will be headlining this year’s main stage with support from none other than local dream pop sweetheart Cuco, acclaimed Mexican singer songwriter Ximena Sariñana and LA’s very own La Chamba, for what promises to be an unforgettable night.

Making a stop in their current “Reluciente, Rechinante y Aterciopelado” tour across Europe and Latin America, politically provocative surf rockers Aterciopelados will celebrate over 20 years of hits, including “Florecita Rockera”, “Baracunatana”, “Bolero Falaz”, “Caribe Atómico” and “El Estuche"; as well as the release of their latest live DVD.

Everyone's favorite heartthrob Cuco, will showcase many of his dreamy melodies, such as his anthemic song “Lo Que Siento”. “Cuco’s rise suggests that our modern heartthrobs won’t be suave or cynical. Rather than appearing larger than life, they might revel in their realism, a quality that inspires rather than isolates fans.” - LA Weekly

Ximena Sariñana will bring her girl power to this celebration, promising to deliver a glimpse from her upcoming album, as well as unforgettable songs like “Parar a Tiempo”, “Mediocre” and “No Todo Lo Puedes Dar”.

Lastly, L.A.’s beloved La Chamba will bring their unique sound, fusing psychedelic electric guitars and organs with heavy Afro-Latin rhythms (such as cumbia, salsa and rumba) that are sure to get your feet moving.

We will also celebrate the 18th anniversary of Hollywood Forever’s Day Of The Dead, playing homage to Jose Guadalupe Posada’s artistic legacy (yes, he is the author of "La Calavera Garbancera", which would later be called "La Catrina" by Diego Rivera), one of Mexico’s most important visionary artists and politically acute activists, a quality relevant to modern times.

"We are very excited to celebrate our 18th anniversary, with such unique talent and pay homage to one of Mexico’s most important artists, visionaries and activists." -Tyler Cassity
