ÜATEKE ROCK FEST 2018, READY FOR THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR IN THE U.S


Los Angeles, September 10, 2018

The itinerant Üateke Rock Fest will be celebrating their second anniversary this year in 2 cities on September 20 & 23, making its debut in the West coast. On this edition the festival is joined by popular Chilean reggae group Gondwana, for the second time the legendary presence of Mexican rock and blues group Haragán y Cía, Mexican rock and roll band Cuca, the iconic Colombian rock band Aterciopelados, one of the most solid musical proposals of Latin America, uruguayan rock band No Te Va Gustar, ska-pop group Los Estrambóticos and Los Angeles reggae-ska group Raskahuele. Additionally, in Los Angeles, the festival includes among the performers indie rock band Enjambre. Mexican rock legend Javier Bátiz and mexican rapper, singer and composer MC Davo will also perform at the San Diego show.

About this year's highlighted acts:

Gondwana is one of the greatest reggae groups from Santiago, Chile formed in 1987 with an impressive trajectory of multiplatinum sales in their country as well as performances in major festivals all over Latin America including the Viña del Mar festival in Chile (in various occasions), Vive Latino in Mexico and Reggae On the River in California, to name a few.

Haragán y Cía is back this year due to popular demand. The legendary Mexican blues rock group is known in the public scene since 1989 and has reflected the reality of the country of Mexico with their Blues, Funk, Reggae, Heavy Metal, Punk, Rock and Roll and Latin Rhythms; becoming recognized in Mexican, American and European levels with great songs like "Maria", "Él no la mató" and "No estoy muerto", among others.

Cuca is a Latin Grammy nominated Mexican rock and roll band from Guadalajara, Jalisco formed in 1989. Their classic hits include "Alcohol y Rocanrol", "La Balada", and "El Son del Dolor". The emblematic band continuously performs in much of Latin America including Argentina and Colombia as well as in the United States.

Aterciopelados is an iconic Grammy nominated and Latin Grammy winning rock band from Colombia with international success for their hit such as "Bolero Falaz", "Baracunatana", and "Florecita Rockera", to name a few. Apart from their classic hits, the band is also known for being a socially conscious band within their music and for being activists.

No te va gustar is one of Uruguay's most popular rock bands mixing reggae, folk, ska and rock that formed in 1994. With more than 20 years of trajectory, the group has toured globally and performed in important festivals such as South by Southwest, Cosquin Rock in Argentina, and 3 times in the prestigious Vive Latino of Mexico City.

Last year's Uateke Rock Fest travelling tour had a successful inauguration that took place in the East coast, taking the selected 9 artists including emblematic Latin ska band Panteón Rococó, blues-rock icon Haragán y Cía, innovative regiomontana group Kinky, and ska-reggae-rock group Inspector, among others to the cities of Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX.
