Fito Páez Hits a Career High Note, Performing at Carnegie Hall
(New York, NY - October 1st, 2018).- The multiple Latin GRAMMY®-winning Argentine rocker Fito Páez made the most of his first-ever Carnegie Hall performance on September 28. He was accompanied by his touring band, which comprises Juan Absatz, Juani Aguero, Diego Olivero, Gastón Baremberg and Anita Álvarez de Toledo. And he was also joined by a 21-piece orchestra, directed by Ezequiel Silberstein.
At 8 p.m., the curtain rose to the opening notes of "Mariposa Tecknicolor." This was followed by "Buenos Aires Rufián," "Cadáver Exquisito" and "11 y 6,"which was sung along to by an audience that was overjoyed to be witnessing musical history.
During the first part of the concert, he also performed "El Chico de la Tapa," "Parte del Aire" and "Tema de Piluso."
After a 15-minute intermission, Fito returned to sing "Dale Alegría a Mi Corazón" (which received an enthusiastic sing-along), "Islamabad" and his recent hit "Tu Vida Mi Vida," which is taken from his latest album La Ciudad Liberada and has two nominations in the upcoming 19th annual Latin GRAMMYs®.
Throughout the rest of the show, he dazzled his fans with such classics as "Un Vestido y Un Amor," "Circo Beat," "Brillante Sobre el Mic" and "El Amor Después del Amor," among others.
After closing with "A Rodar Mi Vida," the audience called him out for an encore, which he happily obliged with "Yo Vengo a Ofrecer Mi Corazón," "Dar Es Dar" and another rendition of "Mariposa Tecknicolor." A night for the ages.
He was far from his birthplace of Rosario, Argentina; far from his city of Buenos Aires, but close to the hearts of everyone who enjoyed his one-of-a-kind show at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York.
