Adopt the Arts Honors Moby

The 7th Annual Adopt the Arts fundraiser took place Thursday, March 7th, 2019 at the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. The gala/concert event was brought on to raise funds for the education of Music and Arts for children. Co-founders activist Abby Berman and legendary drummer Matt Sorum, invited a few friends to join them on and off the stage for the night. Award-winning actress, Board Member and Adviser of Adopt the Arts actress Jane Lynch, award-winning actress Mayim Bialik and DJ, artist and activist Shepard Fairey honored and awarded artist and prolific activist Moby.

The night began with a VIP reception that served vegan cuisine, catering to their special guest and vegan, Moby. A silent auction offered spa sessions, signed memorabilia by famous artists, art work and photography. Being the purpose of the event, children were brought on stage to speak, express their love for music, assist in the auction and even perform. The beautiful Kate Nash sparkled on stage and was backed by an all female group. The Crystal Method projected full energy and excitement from his deck.

The live auction, excited bidders to donate thousands of dollars to this amazing cause: including artwork by Sheppard Fairey, VIP passes to the Coachella Festival, instruments donated by epic musicians and even a chance to join all artists on stage that same night.

The man of the hour stepped on to the stage to receive the Sound and Vision Award. A massive activist and humanitarian, Moby has been a huge advocate for this special cause. The stage filled with talented artist who made up his band: Tony Kanal and Adrian Young from No Doubt and former drummer of Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver, Matt Sorum. Unique renditions of Moby's anthems were performed. Including “South Side” and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”

A complete sense of satisfaction and accomplishment was felt throughout the night.
