Foreigner - Rocking 'Till The End

On August 23rd, Foreigner made a stop at the Toyota Amphitheater in Wheatland, CA near Sacramento as part of their Historic Farewell Tour.

Although, technically, none of the original Foreigner members were on stage, they do have the blessings of band founder, Mick Jones. Kelly Hansen, who replaced original lead singer, Loug Gramm back in 2005, leads the current band.

Some may say that this version is nothing but a glorified Foreigner cover or tribute band, but these are not your typical cover band or tribute band musicians. These guys are true and tested musicians, and some have been with the band since the mid 2000’s.

Regardless, it didn’t matter to the capacity crowd at the Toyota Amphitheater who sang along to almost every song and cheered and celebrated every stage move by Kelly Hansen.

The band did a relatively short set of 16 songs including encores and Keyboard and drum solos, but it was a very energetic and strong set filled with the band’s hits going back to the beginnings of the band and even songs from their albums with Hansen as lead singer.

There was an acoustic set of 3 songs, that didn’t dampen the energy of the spirit of the show, as the band was in top form.

For Juke Box Hero, Hansen, disappeared from the stage at the begging of the song, only to appear in the middle of the amphitheater up in the air over the crowd, which made for one of the most exciting points of the evening.

The tour will now continue to the following cities and more dates later in September and through October.
